Kinda Chili

I don’t really like Chili. My daughter and husband love it. My son hates it.

This recipe is good for all of us, because some eat it as it is and some (like me) add sour cream and cheese and make it into a dip of sorts. And it doesn’t really taste like traditional Chili.

It is also extremely easy to make.

  • 1 pound grass fed ground beef
  • Taco seasoning of choice
  • 2 cans Black Beans
  • 1 can no salt added/reduced sodium chick peas
  • 1 can no salt added/reduced sodium diced tomatoes
  • 1 can green chilies and diced tomatoes

Cook the beef and add seasoning. I mash the beef with a potato masher when it is done cooking to make smaller pieces. Chop the chick peas in the food processor until they resemble bread crumbs and add to a Crock pot. Blend tomatoes and chilies in food processor just so that they are not big chunks and add to the Crock pot. Add the beans and cooked beef to the mixture and mix everything well. Turn the Crock pot on medium and let cook for at least 3 hours. I love making this on busy nights because I can just leave it on for up to 6 hours. When ever we get hungry we can eat and I don’t have to force everyone to sit down at one time.
